Confidential Outreach Support for Women

At Citizens Advice, everything we do is built around you. Our specialist domestic abuse support team offers a confidential, accessible, and entirely person-centered service, completely free of judgment. We adapt our support to fit your life and schedule, offering sessions in person, over the phone, or via video call. If you prefer to meet face-to-face, we can chat in our office or find a comfortable spot outdoors.

How We Can Help You
  • Private and safe support for women

At Citizens Advice, we are here for you. Our special team helps women who are experiencing abuse. Everything we do is private, safe, and focused on what you need—we will never judge you. We can talk in the way that feels best for you: on the phone, through a video call, at our office, or even outdoors for a walk.

  • Money and benefits

We help you get all the benefits you are owed, make a budget that works for you, and connect you with other people who can help sort out your money.

  • Emotional support and confidence

We are here to remind you that the abuse is not your fault. We help you spot the signs of a controlling partner, rebuild your confidence, and support you in making your own decisions.

  • Legal help

We help you to access a lawyer, talk through any worries about your children, and go to court with you so you don't have to face it alone.

  • Housing support

We go with you to housing appointments to look at your choices, and we help you fill out housing forms to find a safe place to live.

  • Digital safety warning: internet history can be tracked

If you are worried your device is being monitored, please try to use a safer computer or phone at a library, community center, or a trusted friend's house. Always delete your browser history or use Private/Incognito browsing mode where possible.
